Five (of the seven) cottages in the Village are built. This area is gently sloping, east-facing and well-drained. Poured concrete walls and foundation drains further assure a dry basement. Exterior materials are low-maintenance such as fiber-cement siding, PVC corner boards and window sills and fiber-cement or cedar trim. Engineered lumber such as floor and roof trusses are used when cost and space effective. Exposed support beams help define interior spaces and add a decorative element. Vapor barriers and ventilation are carefully considered because of the Adirondack climate. All utility infrastructure is underground and LPG tanks are buried.
